As part of What Remains, I traveled into the interior of the United States to follow the lives of individuals who have migrated and now inhabit what is often referred to as the “American Dream.”

The series reflects on the invisible borders that persist after arrival—those that must be crossed repeatedly in the search for belonging, stability, and trust. It considers what people hold onto in order to remain, and how identity is sustained within uncertain social and emotional landscapes.

The Promised Land focuses on the objects that endure in their lives—personal belongings that remain present long after migration, carrying memory, continuity, and survival.

Interviews for this project where conducted in collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder, Denver and the Renée Crown Institute of Wellness.
