THE CAMPS
In the winter of 2019 and 2020, families waiting for their asylum hearings with U.S. officials constructed makeshift camps in areas like Americas, Santa Fe, and Zaragoza. With no available space left in the asylum centers of Ciudad Juarez, hundreds of displaced individuals, refugees and asylum seekers were forced to create their own shelters, staying as close to the border as possible while they waited for their turn. These images capture the harsh realities of their temporary lives, portraying the resilience and vulnerability of those trapped in a limbo, caught between two worlds.
